I have been organizing a four day calligraphy retreat to take place in my own backyard. It's been occupying most of my time since Fall of 2010. Now that the organizing is near completion, I'm thinking I just may be able to start doing my own artwork again and sharing it on my blog. I have a pact with my daughter to work hard to plan this into my schedule.
Today is day one of the pact and I have managed to figure out how to get into the area of my website where I can write new posts. Part one of today's pact agreement is a successful mission.
You may notice that there are no pictures on this new post. Well, I haven't remembered how to insert a picture. I have a great logo to go with the MIDWEST Calligraphy Retreat but my attempt to import it has been unsuccessful. I'll be working on learning that if my wonderful web designer and trainer will take me on again for further tutorials.
I'm looking forward to starting up my blog here and updating my website. I have lots of new art to add.
THE MINNESOTA COLLEAGUES OF CALLIGRAPHY
invite you to join us at the upcoming
MIDWEST Calligraphy Retreat
to be held at Carleton College in Northfield, MN
August 11-14, 2011
IMAGINE THIS: four full days away from your daily routine, time to practice and experiment with calligraphy, a single air-conditioned room to ensure comfortable sleep at night, guidance by a master teacher in finding your personal artistic style, and enjoying it all with friends who share your love of calligraphy and paper arts. You can make this vision a reality by joining fellow artists at The Midwest Calligraphy Retreat in August 2011.
An eight page pdf brochure can be found at the Colleagues of Calligraphy website. Please take a look and consider joining us this summer. You do not need to be a member of the Minnesota Colleagues of Calligraphy to register. Retreat fees are the same for everyone regardless of membership. Two of the four classes are open to
non-calligraphers who are interested in paper arts in general.
For people traveling from out of state, arrangements can be made to occupy your room at Carleton the day before (Wednesday, August 10) and stay an extra night (Sunday, August 14).
There retreat has almost filled since the first invitation was sent to you CA folks.
But, it’s not too late. There are five spots left.
